Jim Landry brings a unique blend of legal prowess and a good-natured sense of humor to his practice. Jim’s legal acumen shines in the fields of civil litigation, medical malpractice defense, healthcare litigation, municipal law, civil rights, employment law, personal injury, and insurance defense.
Jim’s approach to law is as distinctive as it is effective. Armed with an arsenal of legal tactics and strategies to help clients swiftly and economically resolve their legal disputes. Whether it’s through a decisive dispositive motion, a judicious settlement, a tenacious trial, or a fiercely litigated appeal, Jim is committed to finding the path that leads to the best outcome for his clients.
One of Jim’s proudest moments is when his judgments are affirmed on appeal—a testament to his keen legal mind. In these instances, not one, but two sets of judges have examined the case and endorsed his legal acumen.
Defense verdicts, too, bring him immense satisfaction, as they signify that his dedication to his clients and his diligent work have paid off. From 2019 to 2021, Jim participated in four trials – all resulting in favorable outcomes for his clients. And in 2019, Jim was named the Young Lawyer of the Year by Kentucky Defense Counsel, Inc. and as a Kentucky Super Lawyers Rising Star® from 2023 to 2024.
Hailing from the heart of the Bluegrass State, Jim graduated from Western Kentucky University cum laude, where he double majored in history and biology, and he received his graduate degree from the University of Kentucky College of Law. Jim was an active participant in WKU’s Honors College and Dynamic Leadership Institute, and he was appointed as a representative for WKU’s Interfraternity Council Judicial Board.
While at University of Kentucky College of Law, Jim served as one of two Notes Editor of the Kentucky Law Journal and actively participated in Moot Court and Trial Advocacy Board. Jim was also awarded Best Appellee Brief for Trimble Club in his first-year legal writing program.
Outside the courtroom, clients describe Jim as goal-oriented, organized, intelligent, and hardworking. His colleagues echo these sentiments, adding that he is remarkably responsive and dedicated to both his clients and his work.
Prospective clients looking for an attorney who knows how to win arguments and navigate complex legal terrain look to Jim as a professional with a winning track record and a hint of good-natured humor that sets him apart in the legal world.
